Weekly poll results: Samsung Galaxy Note line to miss out.


Gone is the Galaxy Note, long live the Galaxy S22 Ultra! We knew it was coming, but was it really a good move to drop the Note line and absorb its trademark features into the S-series? No, it wasn't, according to last week's survey results.

 

 

 

Most would have preferred if Samsung kept the S and Note models separate. If nothing else, the second launch near the end of the year was a boon for holiday shoppers with money but few ideas. But that time slot is now owned by Z Foldables.




 

About a third of voters don't see it that way. If the phone had been named the Galaxy Note22 Ultra instead, they would have treated it as just another Note launch – and calling it the S22 Ultra instead would be a minor problem for them.

However, others see it as a bigger problem. As some commentators have pointed out, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is almost a separate model line in its own right, while the S22 and S22+ are identical, differing mainly in screen and battery. So maybe Samsung should have kept the Note name to acknowledge the gap in the S-series spec sheets.




However, the popular opinion is that the Note series should have been kept separate and there are some good reasons for this. We mentioned that the best Galaxy camera is on the bigger, more expensive Ultra.
