Poco F4 in for review

Xiaomi has announced the Poco F4 alongside the X4 GT, and as the leaks predicted, it's the global version of the Redmi phone - the Redmi K40S. We got the Poco F4 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

We have received the simplest coating and now we are starting the inspection process.

The retail package comes with a screen protector that you have to

put on yourself, as well as a clear protective case. There's also a

67W charger that promises to top up the 4,500mAh battery in less

than 40 minutes – we'll know for sure once our tests are complete.

The Snapdragon 870 chipset is over a year old, and while we don't

expect many people to be unhappy, the Poco F3 doesn't have any

upgrades. Probably another victim of supply chain issues

For some reason, Xiaomi decided to replace the 5MP macro sensor on the back with a 2MP one, but the main camera on the top now comes with a 64MP sensor and OIS. The ultra-wide camera is another thing that has been carried over from the predecessor.

In addition, the software has been improved. The Poco F4 ships with MIUI 13 on top of Android 12, and Xiaomi promises three major OS updates, making this device a solid choice going forward.

The Poco F4 is a refresh of the Poco F3, and if it maintains solid performance and great battery life, it could be a smartphone worth recommending. We will know forsure when the review is complete, so stay tuned!
